Updated list

One of the things I've learned so far in this Challenge is that some of the things on my list were over- ambitious.  I have had to be a bit more realistic of what I can do, mostly due to financial constraints.  Also, a realisation I have had, not just in terms of my Challenge & Blog, but in other aspects of my life, is that just because I can do something, it does not mean that I have to do it.  This applies mostly to all the ideas I have for making things; Steampunk creations, jewellery, clothing, whatever.

I also realised that some of the items on my list were things that I didn't really want to do; they were there because I thought I should do them; for instance, having colourful flowers in the garden.  I know that my Mum would like it if I had a nicer garden, but I'm simply not green fingered.  I tried to plant some things, but I don't think they're flourishing.  I have tried it, but since it wasn't really there for me, I have removed it.

Anyway, here is my re-arranged list, with items completed at the top, then remaining things below, so that I can see how far along my Challenge I am.

**** ???? Suggestions welcome!

  1. Look at how much stuff you have done! I completely agree that just because you can do something doesn't mean you have to. There's a line in The Happiness Project 'you can choose what you do, you cannot choose what you like to do' which I think applies too. It's important to give yourself lots of opportunities to step back and make changes to what you're doing. After all, although it's your challenge, its also your life, and you need to enjoy it! If you fancy indoor climbing on a trip to Leeds, we could try and do a beginners session at The Leeds Wall? I did a course there a really long time ago and it was fun. Also - is there anything on the list that we can all club together for and get you for your birthday? I'm thinking four handed massage, but then that's just cos it sounds incredible...

  2. I like that quote. Very true.

I might take you up on the indoor climbing :)

I've got the four handed massage booked for a couple of weeks' time but if you wanted to get it for me as a retro-active birthday present, that would be fabulous! Thanks :D

And now, since you've replied to loads of my posts, I think it's about time I actually got on & wrote some more! ;)
